The 47-year-old former Sunday Times political editor will be a regular commentator and contributor to Tom Newton Dunn’s major evening news and current affairs show.

She will also serve as the channel’s international editor, covering key events from around the world when she returns to News UK, The Sun’s parent company.

News UK President of Broadcasting Scott Taunton called her one of the UK’s most famous and influential journalists and broadcasters, adding: “I’m delighted to have her join the TalkTV schedule.”

He said, “TalkTV will be a new voice for viewers who are looking for candid opinions and peer review of news and current events.

“The channel was designed for the streaming era and will be available on linear TV as well as social media and on-demand programs.”

TalkTV will launch on April 25 on linear TV platforms, select streaming services and social media.

Uncensored Piers Morgan will be led by a 57-year-old Sun columnist and will be a fearless forum for lively, intelligent debate and agenda-setting interviews.

Sharon Osbourne will also be hosting her own primetime show, joining many of the already announced big names.

The 69-year-old former X Factor judge will showcase her fearless personality and years of performance experience in a new prime-time TalkTV spot.

For an hour each weeknight, she will invite five opinionated celebrities to discuss the big issues of the day.

And viewers can look forward to a powerful host discussing topics from politics and crime to health and entertainment.
