Award-winning journalist Isabelle Oakeshott has joined TalkTV as panelist and international editor.

Award-winning journalist and TV presenter Isabelle Oakeshott has joined TalkTV today.

The 47-year-old former Sunday Times political editor will be a regular commentator and contributor to Tom Newton Dunn’s major evening news and current affairs show.

She will also serve as the channel’s international editor, covering key events from around the world when she returns to News UK, The Sun’s parent company.

Isabelle said: “I am delighted to be back at News UK, which is both a stronghold of free speech and home to a host of world-class journalistic talent.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Tom’s show as a regular commentator as it seeks to redefine broadcast news and current events for today’s audience.

“And in my new role as international editor, I look forward to reporting from the field on the biggest global news stories around the world.”

Many of Isabelle’s sensationalisms include the exposure of the diplomatic cables written by the British Ambassador to the United States, Sir Kim Darroch, which led to his resignation.

She is the co-author of several well-known non-fiction books, including Life Support, on the state of the NHS; Call me Dave, unauthorized biography of former Prime Minister David Cameron; White flag?, on the state of the armed forces of Great Britain; and Pharmageddon, investigation into the true value of cheap meat.

The latter, written with charity, has been translated into five languages.

News UK President of Broadcasting Scott Taunton called her one of the UK’s most famous and influential journalists and broadcasters, adding: “I’m delighted to have her join the TalkTV schedule.”

He said, “TalkTV will be a new voice for viewers who are looking for candid opinions and peer review of news and current events.

“The channel was designed for the streaming era and will be available on linear TV as well as social media and on-demand programs.”

TalkTV will launch on April 25 on linear TV platforms, select streaming services and social media.

Uncensored Piers Morgan will be led by a 57-year-old Sun columnist and will be a fearless forum for lively, intelligent debate and agenda-setting interviews.

Sharon Osbourne will also be hosting her own primetime show, joining many of the already announced big names.

The 69-year-old former X Factor judge will showcase her fearless personality and years of performance experience in a new prime-time TalkTV spot.

For an hour each weeknight, she will invite five opinionated celebrities to discuss the big issues of the day.

And viewers can look forward to a powerful host discussing topics from politics and crime to health and entertainment.

TalkRadio daytime talent including Julia Hartley-Brewer, Mike Graham, Ian Collins, and Jeremy Kyle will also air on TalkTV.
