Scarlett Moffat revealed that Ant and Dec saved her when she wanted to disappear after the success of I’m a Celebrity.
On the surface, the 31-year-old was living the dream as Britain’s favorite celebrity in 2016, but behind closed doors, she turned to wine to deal with her inner turmoil.
At her darkest moment, she called the Samaritans after the intense social media trolling became too much.
Speaking with Annie McManus “Change” Podcastshe said, “I just remember feeling like I wanted to disappear for a while, and then I called the Samaritans.
“Actually, I didn’t tell anyone about it. I’m not a big alcoholic and I drank a bottle of red wine which might not be enough for some people and I remember just sitting and crying listening to Coldplay. was like, “This needs to be changed, but I don’t know how.” I felt like I was stuck in a rut.”
Weeks spent in a cramped jungle camp left Scarlett feeling safe and cocooned from the outside world.

But back in the UK, her success and the high status that came with it made her afraid to leave the house.
Scarlett’s status rose again just a few months later when she landed the lead role alongside Ant and Dec in a Saturday night takeaway.
“I’m so grateful for Ant and Dec,” she said. “Because I didn’t have anyone in London and they just took me under their wing. I went to Sunday dinner with them and they gave me amazing advice and I felt like I had a friend.
“Their accent and all — I felt at home when I was in their presence — whether it was during filming, or we went to Dek’s house, or to the pub. finally felt: “Hurrah, she’s back to her old self again.”
The former Gogglebox star also spoke to the former Radio 1 DJ about her struggles growing up.
As a child, she was seriously injured in a traffic accident, shortly thereafter she developed Bell’s palsy and was the victim of severe bullying in high school, resulting in her having to eat school lunch “in the closet”.
Of the car incident, she said: “I have never felt such pain, it was terrible. They just sped off. It still upsets me, because as a child I was always very small. “I can’t believe they just left.” They didn’t stay to check that I was all right. I was on a bike, I could be quite far from home, I couldn’t get up. But they just sped off.”
Before she was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, there were concerns that she might have leukemia.
“I remember standing in front of the mirror, literally screaming at myself, trying to make my face symmetrical,” said Scarlett. “That’s when we found out I had Bell’s palsy. They think it was some sort of trauma from what happened.

“It was very sad because I remember being tested for leukemia and that was the only time I saw my father cry.”
She says that due to her illness, she can no longer do Botox.
She said: “My face is no longer symmetrical, and if I get very tired, it gets even worse. I was told, unfortunately for me, that I should never get Botox because it causes droopy eyes, which I eviscerated. about.”
