AMANDA Holden has been on the jury for Britain’s Got Talent since the show first aired on TV in 2007.
So it’s no surprise that the TV star made an impression on viewers at the time, especially with her choice of outfits.
Amanda, 51, originally joined the program alongside creator Simon Cowell and journalist-turned-television personality Piers Morgan.
Impressing fans for over a decade, the Heart radio host regularly looks glamorous at the program’s live performances.
However, the mother-of-two often found herself in the hands of a number of Ofcom complaints for some of her racist decisions.
After Britain’s Got Talent returned to TV over the weekend, we take a look back at some of her more controversial outfits.
Hundreds of complaints
BGT fans will remember how Amanda dared to wear a stunning Julien Macdonald dress back in 2017.
The television judge took the stage in a dress with a deep neckline that descended to her stomach.
The stunning dress, which exposed almost all of her breasts, did not please viewers, who filed complaints with Ofcom.
Amanda’s dress received 663 complaints about the dress, but she remained unmoved, responding that the complaints were “ludicrous”.
She explained: “That dress was hysterical – it was Julien Macdonald. I had pieces of fishing wire under my chest that I tried to fasten.
“But look, I come from a family with small breasts, plus you know I’m 48 years old. It’s all pretty funny, but everyone seems to be talking about it.”
“It was called another national crisis – but, no, they won’t cover me,” she joked.
gossamer dress
Amanda was spotted wearing a web-embroidered gown at the 2019 British Talent Show semi-finals.
Ofcom received nine complaints about the choice of dress, which some viewers deemed “inappropriate” for a family program.
Nicolas Gibran’s dress was completely sheer on one side and the star covered her assets with a tiny silk web.
Amanda styled her hair in a sleek updo to complete her glamorous look, which Ofcom chose not to investigate.
feet on the show
Amanda stepped out in a sheer and sparkly dress for one recent show that showed off her long, toned legs.
The Heart FM host enhanced the sex appeal with a chest cutout that reveals her assets as well as her safety pins.
She exclusively told The Sun how she hoped the dress would create a buzz with viewers even before it was unveiled.
Amanda explained, “I can’t wait to put on my dresses. They are very flattering to you, very feminine, and some of them… what you would expect.
“None of them have been worn before, which is the main thing for me.
“Will people complain to Ofcom? I hope it’s true. I haven’t done my job if they don’t.”
A little on the side
Last year on Britain’s Got Talent The Champions, Amanda went out of her way to make her outfits look raunchier than ever.
The mother-of-two opted for a one-sleeve sheer dress that featured a stunning slit on one side to the thigh.
Once again becoming the subject of discussion of the show, she found herself in the center of attention of viewers on social networks.
As people took to Twitter to complain, a number of news outlets followed her to tarnish her dress.
Attacking critics, Amanda wrote on Instagram: “There are surely more terrible and important things to write about.”
flashing neckline
In 2020, Amanda was sent two rounds of complaints to Ofcom after viewers claimed she showed her nipples on TV.
She opted for a bold blue plunging dress that fans claimed showed more than the TV judge intended.
The dress generated an impressive 235 complaints, with many viewers suggesting they saw Amanda’s nipples.
Amanda took to social media to defend herself after the complaints.
“Mmmm, right? Who sucked so close to their cleavage?” she wrote. “For your information, the bone corset was rumpled by the girls all night.”
Britain’s Looking for Talent returns to ITV on Saturday at 20:00.
