For the East Riding of Yorkshire Council this means £10.4m from the UK General Welfare Fund (UKSPF) and £1.5m for Multiply.
These funds replace the support local governments previously received through the European Structural and Investment Funds prior to the UK’s exit from the European Union.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is required to submit investment plans detailing how UKSPF and Multiply funds will be spent over the next three years to improve local conditions, support businesses and improve skills.
Investment plans must be submitted by August 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022, respectively. Both plans are then subject to government approval.
To support the development of investment plans, the council would like to engage a wide range of local stakeholders from the private, public, community and voluntary sectors to get their input on how the funding should be spent and how they can support implementation between 2022 and 2025.
To jump-start this engagement, the board is hosting an initial webinar to provide an overview of UKSPF and Multiply, focusing on three priorities (below), and inform groups and organizations on how they can participate in shaping investment plans:
○ Local business support
The webinar will take place on Thursday, May 26, from 10:00 to 11:30. Interested parties can register for the webinar free of charge at ukspf_multiply_east_riding_webinar.eventbrite.co.uk.
Claire Jane Evison, Economic Investment, Growth and Tourism Portfolio Holder at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: “This is an opportunity for local people and local businesses to come together and have their say on how they would like the UK to be. The Prosperity Fund held in the East Riding.
“The webinar was organized to provide information to stakeholders from a wide range of sectors and after the event they will have the opportunity to continue interacting with the council. We want to work with people who have great project ideas and people who are really passionate and ambitious about the East Riding.”
Prior to the webinar, participants are strongly encouraged to review the guide to UKSPF and Multiply funds at www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-shared-prosperity-fund-prospectus.
