A student was killed by a pack of stray dogs while she was on a romantic picnic with her boyfriend.
Simona Cavallaro, 20, died earlier this week after being attacked by dogs in the southern Italian town of Striano.
Calvaro and her unidentified boyfriend ended their picnic in the woods with a group of friends and decided to go for a walk.
The couple was attacked by stray dogs as they passed through a densely forested area.
Cuelaro’s boyfriend eventually ran away but was killed by dogs, which reportedly attacked every part of his body.
The boyfriend, who managed to hide in a hut detached from the dog’s pack, alerted local authorities by phone.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and rushed the 20-year-old to a local hospital, who is still alive despite the horrific injuries that initially covered all parts of his body.
Simona died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Local authorities are in the process of seizing the dog packet and an investigation into the student’s death has been launched.
